Amazing virtual galleries filled with original artworks. The best way to have an art experience on any screen, anytime, anywhere around the world.
The days of individual jpegs loading on the screen are over. Virtual galleries rule now. Today major art institutions including the Louvre and the National Gallery, as well as, projects like Google’s Arts and Culture and commercial galleries all move into the virtual realm by providing fascinating online experiences to the viewers sitting at home (or at work).
However, you don’t have to boast a multi million following online or a crazy budget to realize an awesome experience showcasing your own collection. There are a few affordable and high quality solutions available on the market and we use two of them, so far. The resulting galleries will provide you with a superb technical and artistic experience, as well as, give you the opportunity to “feel” the artwork by using a VR set like Samsung Gear, Oculus, etc.
Plus, this is a fine resource to research and expand your own collection of original art and NFTs.
#mrlnsk
First up is #mrlnsk – a fine tuned custom virtual art gallery. Smooth as silk you drift into an experience of physical artistic creations integrated into virtual reality to the point that you believe they were made for each other. With 70 original artworks you get a solid perspective into the work of Kirill Marlinski.
This permanent exhibition leads you on a journey. You go from the development of a few lines into a conceptual melting pot, over human generated canvases that seem to interact with you, to showcasing two major series and giving you the extraordinarily rare instance of grasping an oil painting’s original texture.
This gallery currently offers access to the original, physical art works (oil on canvas paintings, drawings, 3D sculpture) that will be delivered free of charge to any destination around the globe.
#onpaper
On Paper is a virtual gallery of digital NFT twins of physical art works that are executed, as the name implies, on paper. It features works from two different series that come together in the search for balance between realism and abstraction. All art in this and the following galleries is available for purchase on OpenSea for ETH.
The walls are lined with bold graphic works designed by freehand drawing of a few simple lines that turn into abstract derivatives of a human figure. They are the black and white offshoots from the Great Unmasking series that attempt to capture a character within the constraints of using just up to three lines.
On the other hand there are life drawings of nude models, which expose the interplay between the model and the artist and shift the focus from the physical body to expressing visceral vibes within the setting of the performance.
#enface
A mesmerizing gallery that focuses our attention on the human face and its versatile interpretations that transcend boundaries of realism and abstraction to become chapters in the tale of the Great Unmasking, which you are welcome to READ HERE. Colors, shapes and moods change as you look at the paintings and they tell their stories quietly transforming into each other.
The featured paintings were made from 2016 to 2020. Their digital life on the blockchain started in 2021, when the NFTs that you actually see here were minted on OpenSea. With the marketplace turning to accept a large number of various tokens as form of payment we move closer towards the future proof concept of token agnosticism and inter-blockchain compatibility. This is a concept of openness and total acceptance that largely fits into the scheme of things implied within the artworks.
#horizon
The Horizon gallery showcases four video works – a truly multi media virtual art exhibition that combines physical art objects with digital moving image and sound on the blockchain. It focuses your attention on the main features of these works – the unique, fine textures, details, the lines and colors. Yet, as the name of the show implies, these art works all feature a horizon in one form or another as the playground for your eyes and minds.
Exploring static, physical images through moving, digital clips as a way to send an impression to a viewer across the globe fascinates me and provides an impulse for further exploration. In the meantime, these works are available for purchase as NFTs for a very attractive price of just ETH0.05 to make them a gold mine for every buyer that gets in early. Benefitting collectors and investors with a great resale value and an inevitably rising price floor is a key feature of all mentioned collections.
#redessence
Four artworks marked by strong lines, defined by red color and expressed in video cover the walls of the “Red Essence” gallery. A dynamic show of static works, a digital interpretation of physical reality – the supplementary videos become collectible art objects because they are unique works and minted as super rare, 1/1, unique NFTs. The ultimate scarcity of supply in Red.
The red color symbolizes quite different concepts in each of the presented artworks. Within the “Imperfect Conscience” the red color signifies hot lava; in “Lacrimae Rerum” – it is the plasma of the psyche; in the “Red Ruby River” it is the flowing red stone that moves like a river; in “Crispus” it is the Roman imperial red, the color of blood. As I get to realize just now – it all comes down to some kind of transformative motion that is captured on these canvases.
#lesyeux
In the French language “Les Yeux” means: eyes. Literally, eyes are present in three of the four artworks in this gallery, however the fourth piece that features rulers and scissors deals with time and our human abilities to actually see and realize what’s going on as time passes. Time puts everything into perspective that in hindsight yields much unexpected but not less interesting outcomes. And, although, the visual domain functions at the speed of light, it may be neither the most effective nor the fastest way to “see” things.
Another question raised with these works is who is actually looking at whom? When in the same room with any painting that has lots of eyes you may feel watched by the artwork. That’s a weird feeling that turns the usual structure of interacting with art upside down and it has been the case for many viewers of these artworks in real life.
#7figures
Last but not least, the Seven Figures gallery embraces minimalism and places two artworks on its walls across from each other. The NFTs that reflect the original oil paintings (one on canvas, the other on board) feature seven figures of which six are easily recognizable female shapes. Coincidentally, these six have turned their back on us. The seventh figure is a viewer, as well – a voyeur standing in the shadows, looking from the depths of the canvas, enjoying the view, yet, remaining unrecognized and barely visible.
These works are large and fill up the space with their presence. As with all artworks in the galleries listed above, these two are grand not in size, but for the sense that they carry, for the ideas that they form in the viewer’s head, for the stories that they give rise to, for the self reflection that they provide to us, the art aficionados.
Let the “Seven Figures” also be a hint for you as to how much these works will go for in the near future. This should help you build confidence for making the right decision and purchasing works from these galleries for your NFT collection.
